25 things i wish i knew before i turned 25
saw this on my feed on my last day of being 24 and it inspired me to do my own list 1. it's ok to put yourself first - stop feeling guilty 2. be you - not everyone will like you for who you are but it's better than people liking you for who they think you are 3. be honest with yourself and everybody else - lying gets you nowhere but hell 4. trust once broken is hard to repair 5. don't spend money mindlessly (but also invest in skincare) 6. rest is productive 7. recognise your privilege 8. do things that scare you because it may surprise you 9. stop making excuses and putting off things that you really want to do 10. it's ok to not have things figured out - you still have time to live and learn 11. don't be so hard on yourself and take your time - comparing does nothing but make you feel bad about yourself 12. your voice has value even if somebody tells you otherwise 13. learn to set boundaries and say no 14. things may not get better but things will change 15. build yourself up even if you don't feel worthy 16. be grateful for the good in your life 17. don't say sorry for everything 18. family may sometimes be suffocating but you will find ways to breathe 19. pleasing everyone is tiring so stop trying 20. what you see may not be what it is - there are always two (or more) sides to everything 21. don't trade your happiness for someone's approval 22. sometimes people are not willing to change and you can't force them 23. don't take everything to heart 24. you determine your own worth so be your own hype woman and think the world of yourself 25. be good enough for you to love you Labels: personal |
